TRANSFORM YOUR BODY, ENHANCE YOUR WELL-BEING
TRANSFORM YOUR BODY, ENHANCE YOUR WELL-BEING
Hello, I am Pamela. I am a fully insured Massage Training Institute (MTI) qualified and registered Oncology Massage Therapist, as well as registered Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) UK Therapist, with a background as a trauma and orthopaedic nurse, working from my practice in Doncaster, South Yorkshire. I have been working for a charity that offers massage therapy and wellbeing therapy to clients with cancer and also NHS staff. Following an in-depth consultation process to assess your needs, wishes and any underlying medical conditions, I will provide personalised massage treatments to achieve your goals.
Massage therapy in the UK isn’t regulated. There are no laws or regulations holding practitioners to account so anyone could become a massage therapist with little or no training.
The Massage Training Institute (MTI) is a recognised professional organisation that trains, inspires and develops holistic massage professionals of the highest quality. It teaches students a wide variety of massage techniques that could be adapted to an individual client rather than applying a set routine to treat all.
As an MTI practitioner I focus on clients physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. I am assessing the whole person and use my skills, knowledge and experience to competently support all my clients. I also maintain my skills through a programme of continuing professional development and participation in regional support groups.
MLD UK Therapists are qualified through one of the recognised MLD schools - not through a short or online course. Their expertise includes a deep understanding of lymphatic anatomy and how it is affected by cancer, surgery, and other medical conditions. Every therapist on the MLD UK register has had their qualifications and insurance verified, so you can trust that you are in safe and competent hands.
Being on a recognised professional register means MLD UK Therapists are trusted by GPs, surgeons and other healthcare professionals to work alongside medical care. In addition to providing effective treatment, they are skilled in recognising potential complications, offering advice on self-care, and communicating with medical teams when needed.
Having a background as a trauma and orthopaedic nurse, I have an understanding of problematic areas of the body. I have experience in consultation, assessment and delivery of care to address your needs.
I understand the negative impact stress and fatigue has on the body. What gives me great satisfaction is being able to help my clients not only with physical conditions, but also to have them leave my room de-stressed and relaxed.
I provide personalised massage treatments, tailored to meet each client’s needs. To achieve this, I find it is important to spend some time with each new client before a treatment to find out more about any existing conditions and agree to what you would like and need from a session.
I will listen to your body’s needs with my hands. I will use a variety of massage techniques depending on what you would like to achieve from a session. I will also develop a comprehensive massage therapy plan tailored to your personal needs.
