Restore balance. Support healing. Enhance well-being.
Take a moment and discover how therapeutic touch like manual lymphatic drainage can support your health and healing.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a deeply restorative treatment that uses light, rhythmical touch to support one of the body’s most essential – yet often overlooked – systems: the lymphatic system.
The lymphatic system plays a vital role in immune defence, healing, and fluid regulation. When functioning well, it helps protect against illness, reduces swelling, and supports tissue repair.
This gentle, advanced technique encourages the natural flow of lymph, helping the body to clear waste, reduce inflammation, and maintain internal balance. It’s not only a wonderful support for recovery – from injury, surgery or chronic conditions – but a powerful way to care for your overall health and vitality.
Many clients describe MLD as a deeply calming experience, often leaving the session with a renewed sense of lightness and vitality. Beyond the physical benefits, MLD can also support emotional balance, with many reporting reduced stress and an enhanced sense of overall well-being.
Such as tired, puffy eyes, or swollen legs and ankles (including during pregnancy), and water retention linked to PMS.
Especially after orthopaedic procedures such as hip or knee replacements, foot, ankle or hand surgery. MLD helps reduce swelling, ease stiffness, and support tissue healing.
Including tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, or recovery from fractures, sprains and soft tissue injuries.
Such as fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, sinusitis, acne, scleroderma and psoriasis.
As well as its therapeutic benefits, many people find MLD deeply calming. The gentle, rhythmic touch can ease physical tension, quieten the nervous system, and leave you feeling profoundly relaxed and de-stressed promoting overall health and wellbeing.
*While Manual Lymphatic Drainage is not a replacement for medical treatment, it can be a valuable addition to your wider wellness plan. When integrated alongside other therapies, MLD may support your body’s natural healing processes and enhance your overall sense of well-being.
If you’re considering MLD for a specific health condition, it’s always best to speak with a qualified healthcare provider or experienced MLD therapist like me. They can help you determine whether this gentle and restorative therapy is right for your individual needs.
While MLD is often used in managing lymphoedema and recovery from cosmetic surgery, I do not currently treat these conditions.
My focus lies in supporting people recovering from orthopaedic surgeries (such as hip and knee replacements, or hand, foot and ankle procedures), those living with chronic conditions like migraines, fibromyalgia or multiple sclerosis, and individuals seeking pain relief or a gentle detoxifying boost.
Your safety and results matter to me and I only offer MLD where I am fully trained and confident it will help.
I am trained in the original Vodder method of Manual Lymphatic Drainage – a respected and globally recognised technique known for its precision, safety, and effectiveness. This structured approach ensures that every stroke is intentional, therapeutic and aligned with your body’s natural flow.
As a registered MLD UK therapist, you can be assured that you’re receiving professional, safe and high-quality care.
During your MLD session you will lie comfortably on a massage table where you’ll be encouraged to fully relax. The treatment itself uses precise, gentle and rhythmic movements applied to the skin - designed to stimulate the flow of lymph and support your body’s natural detoxification process.
Unlike traditional massage, MLD is very light in pressure and does not involve the use of oils or lotions. You may remain fully or partially clothed, depending on the areas being treated, and I will ensure you feel at ease throughout.
After the session, it’s common to feel lighter, more energised, and deeply relaxed. Drinking plenty of water and allowing time to rest can help enhance the benefits of your treatment.
The number of MLD sessions you may need depends on your individual goals and the reason for treatment. Some clients benefit from a short series of sessions, while others choose to incorporate MLD into their ongoing wellness routine.
For general relaxation and immune support, occasional treatments may be enough. If you’re recovering from surgery, managing a medical condition, or supporting lymphatic health more intensively, your therapist may recommend a tailored plan — often starting with more frequent sessions, then gradually tapering as your body responds.
During your initial consultation, I’ll take the time to understand your needs and develop a personalised approach that works for you
Whether you’re seeking relief, recovery or a deeper sense of wellbeing, MLD offers a nurturing space to reset. Sessions are calm, unhurried and tailored to your body’s needs on the day.
